Brief: The building is designed to bring a new form to regional architecture. The site has a wide view of the city’s largest lake: The HatirJheel. The building continues to translate the perception of the building from afar to the experience within. The building tower strives to continue inspiring, surprising, and elevating the user experience – implementing design ethos in a city with unique opportunities to stand in a dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. The multi-level green spaces create a visual datum that unifies the three masses together, proving a pleasant, harmonious and symphonic relation to the vicinity. Public space and landscape merge in an intimate reciprocal relationship that creates a juxtaposition between direct axial views of the lake through an architectural space. Grand Hyatt is posted smack in the heart of Dhaka and has become even more of a contextual centrepiece due to its tall facade visible from all four sides. Therefore, the Hotel exterior design is a critical part of the city’s urban context, and it is tailored to designing a facade that would do justice to its contextual importance. The project successfully managed to capture the landmark essence of the Grand Hyatt. Its juxtaposed aesthetics of modern come traditional. The exterior of this hotel manages to look inviting, eye-catching and contextually relevant – all at the same time. Furthermore, the interior-exterior connection has been executed in a versatile way.
